The design sought to provide amenity for the new inhabitants without compromising that of the nearby dwellings or creating overlooking issues around the site in Dulwich, SE22.
Early consultations with the Southwark Council provided the basis for the development of the design for planning approval, resulting in the provision of a new three storey three bed dwelling.
The house is entered through a private courtyard. A screened timber pergola abutting the house serves as both entrance shelter and balcony for the first floor living area. From the street the screened enclosure is seen as an object sitting above a lime mortar and London stock walled enclosure.
