RIBA Part 2 Post Graduate Diploma in Architecture Projects / Stuart Darling / Ian Knowles / Carol Lang / Jonas Samson

David continues to maintain close links with education.

He has been a personal tutor for post-graduate students as part of the RIBA professional qualification programme for office based candidates, called RIBA Studio.

The programme is run with Oxford Brookes University and enables candidates to undertake RIBA parts 1, 2 and 3 courses whilst in gainful employment.

He has also taught on the Masters programme at Brighton University School of Architecture.

Previous to this, for over five years David held the post of a design tutor on the architecture degree course at Kingston University. He has also been a visiting studio lecturer at the Bartlett, University College London and Sheffield Universities.

He is a contributor to an initiative between the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine, Glasgow and Liverpool Universities.

The joint inititive is investigating the effect of changes to the built environment on mental health, crime and well being in local communities.

David is a member of Merton Borough Council’s Design Review Panel. The panel is made up of independent professionals with architecture and design expertise. The role of the panel is to assess design proposals for developments by providing advice and support to applicants and planning officers with the aim of delivering quality design.
 
He has also been a member of the judging panel of the RIBA London awards and has been actively engaged with Open House, London and Shelter’s Architect in the House Schemes.
